The Best Western is one story with room access from outdoors (so no stairs and easy access for hauling stuff you don't want to leave exposed on your truck). It has two outdoor pools and shares real estate with Casa Ramos, a pretty good Mexican restaurant with a separate, full service bar, open 7 days a week. Karen, who tends bar, is terrific and she's the reason Casa Ramos is the favorite hangout of racetrack junkies.
- Baymont Inn
Next door to the Best Western, across from McDonald's (see directions above). 530-934-9700. For a $14 discount, mention "Keigwins@theTrack." (Note: this used to be called the AmeriHost Inn. If this link stops working please let us know.)The Baymont Inn is newer with nicer, though smaller, rooms. Access to your room is through a hallway. It has two stories so there may be stairs to navigate. It has an indoor pool and hot tub. It too is near Casa Ramos.

Down the same street (475 No. Humboldt Ave.). 530-934-4444. Ask for the "Thunderhill track rates" of $59 (single or double occupancy). Mention "Keigwins@theTrack" when booking your room and pay only $54! This special rate is ONLY for Keigwins customers.The Days Inn is a short block away from the above motels and restaurant and has comparable amenities. It is clean and tidy and well managed. Manager Corine Munci is very customer-oriented. The "Keigwins" special rate of $54 also gets you free Wi-fi and a specialty coffee drink at Thunderhill.
